External Communications Manager

We are hiring an External Communications Manager to lead our global external communications strategy. This pivotal role will be instrumental in enhancing our brand's presence and reputation on a global scale.

  • Reports to the Global Communications SVP

Location:

  • This is a Global Role which will be based in the United States (eastern half of the USA is preferred.)

In this role you can expect to

Key Accountabilities:

  • Strategic Communication Planning: Manage comprehensive external communication strategies that align with our mission and business objectives, ensuring our messaging reaches the right audiences through the most effective channels.
  • PR Agency Management: Oversee the day-to-day work with our PR agency of record, ensuring alignment with our communication strategies and maximizing the agency's impact.
  • Media Relations: Cultivate and manage relationships with key media outlets, proactively pitching stories, responding to inquiries, and issuing press releases to enhance our brand visibility.
  • Content Creation: Produce high-quality communication materials, including press releases, media pitches, talking points, website content, and social media posts, that tell the story of our impact on people's lives.
  • Crisis Communication: Design and execute crisis communication plans to protect our brand reputation and manage public perception during challenging situations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with external stakeholders, including industry influencers, partners, and community leaders, to strengthen our brand's influence and reach.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistency in our brand messaging across media efforts, reinforcing our market position.
  • Social Media Management: Create engaging content for LHH's executives that drives brand awareness and fosters positive online interactions.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Track and analyze the performance of communication campaigns, using data-driven insights to optimize strategies and demonstrate ROI.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and leadership, to align communication efforts with business goals and ensure cohesive messaging.

Responsibilities:

  • Use your understanding of the talent solutions industry to engage with media and increase public knowledge of our services.
  • Create and execute sustained communication campaigns that support our strategic priorities throughout the year.
  • Manage a bold external communications plan that tells the LHH story. Work with reporters, news, and editorial teams to facilitate meaningful engagements with our key executives to increase knowledge of LHH's efforts.
  • Collaborate across LHH and partner with relevant teams to discover great stories and tell those stories using all available channels.
  • Work with MarCom colleagues around the globe to drive global messaging, handle reactive media inquiries that span multiple product or issue areas, and maintain good hygiene around tracking and measuring coverage.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities to craft clear, concise, and persuasive messaging that supports our brand positioning and tells our story.
  • Media Relations Expertise: Proven experience in managing media inquiries, building relationships with journalists, and effectively pitching stories to enhance brand visibility.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute comprehensive communication plans that align with our business goals and drive brand positioning.
  • Crisis Management Skills: Capacity to effectively manage crisis situations with calm and decisive action, protecting our brand reputation.
  • Digital Savvy: Understanding of social media platforms and digital communication strategies to enhance our brand presence.
  • Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple communication projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical Skills: Capability to track and analyze data to measure communication campaign effectiveness and optimize strategies.
  • Storytelling Ability: Talent for crafting compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences and effectively communicate our brand's impact.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Significant experience in a similar role, preferably in a global context.

  • Compensation: $105,000-$115,000 plus bonus opportunity.

Placement within this range is determined based on geographic location, experience, and other compensatory factors.
