JOB SUMMARY:

Sets up, operates, and tends to heat treat furnaces.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Performs routine macro hardness test verification as required.
  • Performs necessary testing and bake out cycles.
  • Performs capillary tests on brazed honeycomb hardware as required.
  • Performs brazability testing on new braze alloy lots.
  • Starts up, operates, and shuts down heat treat furnaces per documented work instructions.
  • Prepares load thermocouples, as required.
  • Monitors furnace cycles to ensure proper operation.
  • Reviews furnace charts for accuracy and compliance.
  • Performs operations on open air aluminum furnace as assigned.
  • In coordination with Maintenance Department, performs preventive maintenance on heat treat equipment (including, but not limited to, channel calibrations, dew point tests, and leak tests).
  • Proceeds under general supervision.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and conformity with Ace Precision Quality System work instruction requirements that govern heat treat operations.
  • Maintains or exceeds production standards through efficient organization and planning.
  • Follows and complies with safety policies and procedures.
  • Accurately completes all required documentation.
  • Meets attendance policy requirements.
  • Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read English, and understand sketches, routings, product specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with employees and other Company stakeholders.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals and fractions.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Requires judgment to plan and perform work, and make decisions as to the sequence of processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
