Ports America is building a robust Procurement team to capture benefits of its current scale, and enable profitable growth. The Procurement Analyst plays a crucial role on this team in transforming complex spend data into actionable insights that drive procurement decisions. The position involves mining and analyzing spend data, conducting market research, developing reporting and tracking for key performance measurements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve financial goals.

This position is open to remote in one of the following states: Maryland, New Jersey, Arizona, Louisiana

Essential duties:



  • Analyzing spend data and identifying trends and cost-saving opportunities, providing actionable insights to the procurement team.
  • Gather information from multiple, disparate data sources & systems.
  • Monitoring and evaluating supplier performance and compliance to ensure alignment with company standards.
  • Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and trends and leverage data to provide relevant insights and inform of strategies.
  • Creating and maintaining procurement reports and dashboards to support decision making and executive communication.
  • Participating in cross-functional meetings, providing necessary information and analysis to support procurement decisions.
  • Collaborating with finance teams to ensure procurement activities are aligned with budgetary constraints and financial goals.
  • Utilizing procurement software and tools to streamline processes and enhance data analysis capabilities.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Management, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related discipline OR 5+ years of equivalent experience in similar role
  • 3+ years of purchasing data analytics experience, preferably for maritime operations, transportation/logistics, construction, or related industry.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) issued by the Department of Homeland Security.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to analyze large data sets to identify trends, opportunities and insights.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in cloud-based procurement software and data management tools, PowerBI, and the Microsoft Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint.


Salary Range: 75-90k

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
