Position Summary:

The Department of Admissions and Recruitment in Division of Strategic Enrollment Management at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science invites applications for a part-time Admissions Screener position. The University encourages applications from individuals belonging to groups underrepresented in their field and those that can add new and valuable perspectives to the academic environment. This position requires close cooperation with the CMS Admissions Counselor to administratively assist in the screening process of the AMCAS medical school applications. The purpose of the admissions screener is to review application files and make notes for further action by the admissions chair or admissions committee.

While this position is not eligible for our regular employees benefits, all RFU employees are eligible to accrue paid leave at a rate of 1 hour for every 40 hours worked per year. All RFU employees are also eligible to make unmatched contributions to voluntary supplemental pre-tax and post-tax retirement plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The admissions screener will conduct application review (90%) and assist in the processing of applications (5%). Under the supervision of the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, the admissions screener will also help with creating reports to assist the admissions process (5%). The screener will use the AMCAS applications to complete the primary screen of the applicant's graduate education, personal statement, medical related experiences, leadership/humanitarian activities, letters of recommendation and evaluate course credit and required coursework requirements on the CMS Primary Screener Evaluation form.

Required Education and Experience

* Bachelor's degree.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Basic Computer Skills

* Ability to work accurately and independently

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree

* 1-2 years' experience in admissions and recruitment in an academic environment
