Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Two (2) years of experience in semi-skilled manual labor and operation of associated light equipment.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license equivalent to a Florida CDL B and obtain a valid Florida CDL B driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire or promotion
Key Responsibilities
  • Operates simple to moderately complex equipment, i.e., tractors, power brooms, mowers, trucks, forklifts, back hoes, jack hammers, or augers.
  • Prepares assigned equipment for daily work orders by daily inspecting prior to and after use and performing regular maintenance and minor repair as directed.
  • Ensures the safe loading, unloading and operating condition of equipment through daily safety inspections for defects, malfunctioning, or otherwise substandard conditions. Identifies and takes corrective action or advises supervisor.
  • Performs pre-trip inspection of vehicle, notifying supervisor and/or Fleet of concerns or maintenance needed.
  • Participates in establishing traffic control devices such as signs, barricades, and cones.
  • Utilizes various manual, gas and handheld electrical tools and equipment in the performance of assigned tasks.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
