National Productions Intern

About the Opportunity
The National Productions Team is seeking a part-time intern to
work on various departmental projects, from broadcast to digital. This position
will support the team in development of projects for national distribution and
reporting on existing projects to be shared with key stakeholders.
Specifically, this role will require research, writing, presentation, and
administrative duties. Additionally, this role will work on the documentary
series Reel South as it builds out its digital presence. The ideal candidate
should have strong communication skills, be highly competent in administrative
tasks, and be fluent in the Google Suite, and Microsoft Office (specifically
PowerPoint). Preference for those with experience with YouTube.

The
selected intern will be guaranteed 1:1 professional development time with our
National Productions Team, who will advise and assist the intern as they build
their roadmap for early career success.

This position is a hybrid work arrangement and
will work at least 1 day per week at the Bryan Center in Research Triangle
Park, NC. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North
Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

About the Team
PBS North Carolina's Content division provides North
Carolinians with national and local programming and services of the highest
quality, using media to educate, inspire, entertain, and express a diversity of
perspectives. The National Productions unit amplifies stories from the Carolinas
and the American South across the country, injecting authenticity and diversity
into the public media landscape, while providing mentorship and opportunity to
our regional content creators.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Competencies
* Recent college graduate from an accredited college
or university (student must have graduated in Spring 2024 or after) OR *
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university AND * Be a full-time
undergraduate student (at least 12 semester hours) OR * Be a graduate student
(9 semester hours)

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
The ideal candidate will have solid research skills, an interest in analytics and reporting, and should be highly organized with a curiosity to learn more. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Drive.
