About the Role The Code Compliance Director will lead the strategic direction and operations of the Code Compliance Department. This role will focus on community engagement, code enforcement efficiency, and sustainable neighborhood improvement, ensuring initiatives align with public safety, property standards, and quality of life enhancements. This position reports directly to the Managing Director, providing key insights and strategic recommendations for citywide improvement efforts. The department has an annual budget of $3,390,930 and 36 FTEs. Ideal Candidate This mission-driven community steward shall strive to deliver services and projects in an innovative, quality, and timely manner. In addition, the new leader is one who must quickly navigate and successfully manage competing demands and priorities, as well as empower diverse teams with varying skill sets to provide customer service excellence in all department functions. This role will also foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability while driving the strategic direction and operations of the Code Compliance Department. A strong team builder and change agent, the ideal candidate will bring a passion for solving problems and improving neighborhoods and communities. They will be skilled in political acumen and adept at navigating the complexities of working across multi-functional teams and City Council members to balance the challenging needs of the community. The salary range is $140K - $150K+ depending on qualifications and will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
