At Munich Re, the Integrated Analytics (IA) team leads this effort in North America. Our multi-purpose team of data engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, DevOps engineers, underwriters, actuaries, and other experts work together to innovate and solve complex issues in insurance auditing and accelerated under-writing. Our Senior Engineers specialize in the creation and maintenance of the data-intensive, high-availability services needed to bring our industry leading capabilities to market.

Job Description:

  • Design and implement highly available and reliable cloud & orchestration infrastructure for business applications and machine learning workloads.
  • Work with diverse cloud native toolsets to rapidly and continuously deliver releases and deployments of our services to clients.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines that scale across multiple organizational teams, providing a common secure and compliant SDLC to different application needs.
  • Develop internal tooling, automation, and processes that improve the DevSecOps practices and minimizes manual intervention.
  • Maintain cloud infrastructures using Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform), in secure and scalable manner.
  • Develop and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to proactively detect system issues and maintain SLA/SLO.
  • Support daily operations, monitoring and security functions of the DevOps stack.
  • Drive complex projects and work with product stakeholders and teams to deliver business goals.
  • Lead the team through influence and consensus building and provide technical review and guidance to juniors and peers.
  • Own self-development and seeks out opportunities to grow technical skillset aligned with job functions.
  • Able to learn subject domains and operate as Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform/Pulumi/Crossplane or CSP specific templating tools.
  • Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipeline, with a preference for GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
  • Experience working with a major Cloud Service Provider (CSP) such as Azure/GCP/AWS
  • Experience with networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with cybersecurity fundamentals (e.g. information, application, data, network, identity).
  • Experience with algorithms and software engineering.
  • Experience with at least one programming language with a preference for Python, Golang, or, JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience working with Docker and other containerization tools and services.
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Lead incident response, quickly triaging and mitigating issues, and coordinating cross-functional teams to resolve outages.
  • Deep knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK Stack).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.

For New York City based employees, the base salary range anticipated for this position is $201,069 to $232,817, plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
