Job Summary:

Pave America is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and managing key aspects of the general ledger, fixed asset accounts, and equipment financing. You will play a critical role in preparing financial reports, supporting audits, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with subsidiaries, lenders, and internal teams to ensure seamless financial operations. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    General Ledger Oversight
    • Maintain and manage accurate and up-to-date financial records.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.
    • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Fixed Asset Accounts
    • Manage and reconcile fixed asset accounts, ensuring accurate recording of transactions.
    • Maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger including acquisitions, disposals, transfers & depreciation.
    • Partner with subsidiaries to ensure compliance with our fixed asset capitalization policies.
  • Equipment Financing
    • Manage and reconcile equipment debt accounts, ensuring accurate recording of transactions.
    • Partner with subsidiaries and lenders to ensure equipment payments are made timely and accurately.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits to provide necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the general ledger function.
    • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other departments and subsidiaries to address inquiries and resolve issues related to transactions recorded by the corporate accounting team.
    • Collaborate with finance and executive teams to provide insights and support decision making.


Qualifications (Experience, Education & Certifications, Key Attributes):

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA designation is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting.
  • Experience in managing fixed assets is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficient in accounting software (NetSuite experience is a plus) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
