Purpose/ Summary:

Seeking an Internal Audit Manager candidate to build an East Coast audit team. The candidate must be ready to add value to the organization and improves operations by providing and managing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate areas of risk management; strengthen the control environment; create reports to recommend improvements to management; and work with external auditors to affect an efficient and timely audit. Candidate should have experience with government contract audits to comply with FAR and DFAR.

Key Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Identify, document, test and advise on the design and implementation of controls in a SOX-like environment.
• Plan and execute risk-based audit engagements, identifying deficiencies and drafting recommendations to remediate findings.
• Provide training as needed to individuals both within and outside the department who might have limited exposure to controls.
• Review audit work papers.
• Monitor and report on issue identification, retesting and remediation status and assess possible mitigations.
• Coordinate with other department employees to verify consistent methodologies and policies are being implemented to ensure uniformity in operational audits.
• Effectively track and communicate the progress of audits/projects, including monitoring of key milestones against audit timeline and coverage of scope areas.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and performance feedback for Internal Audit staff.
• Recommend automated tools to add efficiency to auditing.
• Assist in preparation of the annual risk assessment, fraud risk assessment and development of the audit plan.
• Perform fraud investigations and special projects.
• Work with operations on process improvements.
• Act as a resource to departments who may need assistance with complex business issues or implementations.
• Other duties as assigned.
  

Qualifications (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience)

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience required, preferably in public accounting and/or private industry experience with a public company; Big 4 experience is desirable. Manufacturing experience a huge plus.
• A strong background in SOX control identification, documentation and testing is required. A fundamental knowledge of ITGCs and application controls is beneficial as is experience with entity level controls.
• Must have or be actively pursuing either a CPA or CIA professional certification. Other certifications (e.g., CISA, CFE, etc.) are considered a plus
• A working knowledge of operational and compliance audits
• Understanding of US GAAP and auditing principles
• Understanding of DFAR and FAR auditing
• Strong project management skills
• Must possess effective verbal and written communication abilities
• Travel up to 25%
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.)
• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance preferred

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
