Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as front of house lead at the McAninch Arts Center entertainment events with the goal of ensuring a patron-centered focus.

  • Deliver a high standard of exceptional customer service to all patrons.
  • Greet guests and answer questions, help to resolve issues.
  • For events and exhibits, assist with patron services, including but not limited to, seating, will-call, emergencies and overall comfort of patrons.
  • Coordinate/print/place any additional signage required for an event.
  • For events and exhibits, supervise volunteer and paid ticket takers and ushers.
  • Lead the pre-event meeting which includes assigning locations and tasks.
  • Ensure that theatres, restrooms, lobby and all public spaces are clean, safe and welcoming.
  • Communicate with custodial, grounds and engineering staff, as needed.
  • Enforce policies regarding use of cameras and recorders, food and beverages, access and seating.
  • Carry out established intermission procedures.
  • Provide prompt, professional and courteous responses to all patron concerns.
  • Adhere to all emergency procedures intended to ensure the safety and comfort of patrons.
  • Follow all established procedures for opening and closing of house and/or exhibition. Coordinate the opening of the house/exhibit with Production Manager/Curator.
  • Ensure compliance with all ADA accessibility requirements.
  • Assist House Manager with merchandise sales including staffing and reconciling sales as needed. Coordinate any giveaways as provided by the artists for day of show.
  • Responsible for following the dress code and persevering personal hygiene as well as the cleanliness and arrangement of furniture in theaters, lobby, restrooms and other general spaces.
  • Other duties as required.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • High School Diploma/GED required.
      • CPR Certification preferred.
    • Experience
      • Related customer/patron service or public relations experience required.
      • Proficiency in spoken and written English required.
    • Licenses and Certifications
      • COD Training
        • Compliance Training


        Working Conditions:

      • Considerable public contact, flexible hours, mostly evenings and weekends as performances are scheduled.
