About the role

  • Our Electrical and Instrumentation team, composed of 10 people, is integrated in the Silica Maintenance Department. The Team's focus is continuous improvement of our Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by creating proactive and reactive solutions to safely produce Silica, in collaboration with our process control group and electrical engineering department.
  • As the Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, you will need a background in instrumentation and controls with emphasis on PLC/Delta-V/HMI. Also, hands-On experience with control panel and field wiring, instrument calibration with 4-20 MA and 3-15 PSI control loops and familiarity with PID loops and tuning is preferred.


  • You will be accountable for:

    • Electrical-Industrial Controls, Programmable Controls, Instrumentation, Electronic/Pneumatic Instrumentation, Microprocessors, and the ability to troubleshoot the above. Perform preventative maintenance calibrations on various instrumentation/equipment.
    • Install new instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, conduit and electrical circuitry.
    • Troubleshoot and solve problems by consulting manuals, schematics, writing diagrams, and past experience.
    • Inspect and test equipment circuits to identify malfunctions or defects using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or ammeters and interact with contractors on a regular basis.
    • Develops and maintains facility process documentation such as P&IDs and electrical prints, train operations personnel in troubleshooting Instrument & Electrical equipment.
    • Assists in establishing preventative maintenance programs for Instrument & Electrical.


  • We offer a permanent contract based on an onsite working mode with a Rotating Shift, including weekends and holidays schedule.



About you

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a plant Electrical & Instrumentation Department or technical training from an accredited training facility.
