Description The Network/Telecommunications Engineer will be supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to design, build, operate, and maintain the FAA's next-generation communications platform. The candidate should have knowledge of hardware electronic components, hardware design, development, and system implementation requirements and will also require practical networking and/or telecommunications experience. Able to define interaction and interface among different categories of requirements. Performs formal system testing activities for a particular project or subset of a larger project under supervision of more experienced personnel. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a Position of Public Trust. Must be a US Citizen or 3-year permanent resident. Work location: William J. Hughes Technical Center, Pomona, NJ . Full time schedule requiring onsite reporting. Position Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 3+ years of relevant experience or High school degree and 6+ years of relevant experience. Understanding of IP networking concepts Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model T1s, Ethernet, Cisco routers and switches Wireless/Long Term Evolution (LTE) experience and/or experience with FAA radars and radios, or testing of those systems Time-division Multiplexing (TDM) technologies preferred Ability to work off-shift hours Occasional travel may be required Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Education Salary Range Position Engineer Division JVN Communications Number of Openings 1 Open Date 3/17/2025 About the Organization ECS and JVN are dedicated to providing innovative technology solutions in the field of Air Traffic Control Systems.
