Vice President of Strategic Development

The Vice President of Strategic Development position resides in the Strategy & Acquisition Office and works closely with business unit presidents to define and execute Johnson Controls long term vision.

The primary role is to develop & evolve proprietary company strategies to ensure the sustainable/profitable organic & inorganic growth for the company that will ensure the sustainable profitable growth of the company resulting in a higher valuation.

This role, reporting directly to the to VP & Head, Strategy, Business Development will develop executive relationships, foster new business development and lead the execution of all elements of strategic and market assessment plans. The VP of Strategic Development, together with Business Unit and Corporate leadership, will drive portfolio strategy, investments and actions that will drive incremental revenue growth and value for Johnson Controls. The successful candidate will bring energy, act as a self-starter, and be relentless in their pursuit of creating value for Johnson Controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partners with business unit president to develop and execute corporate strategy, and serves as a key leader to ensure long term business success.

  • Supports definition of new lines of business for business expansion and contract growth strategies to ensure healthy growth of new and existing customers.

  • Lead all aspects of market assessment in support of M&A transactions including primary market research.

  • Extensive experience is market assessment including segmentation and growth assessment

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors in Science plus Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from an accredited college in a related discipline

  • Minimum 10 years of strategic development experience, including international business development

  • 3 Years of strategy in support of M&A transactions
