Chicago, IllinoisAdd to Favorite Jobs Email this Job The Department of Pathology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor to join the division of Breast Pathology. A successful candidate will display excellence in diagnostic breast pathology, have a record of demonstrated productivity and scholarship, and exhibit a commitment to teaching. Additional subspecialty interest and experience would be viewed favorably. The division evaluates over 6,500 in-house breast biopsy and resection cases and over 1,000 second opinion consult cases annually. Advanced immunohistochemistry, FISH, and molecular studies are integrated into clinical service. In addition to clinical responsibilities and research, faculty are expected to play an active role in the teaching and training of medical students, residents, and fellows. Breast cancer is one of the areas of excellence at Northwestern Medicine, and the environment for hypothesis driven basic research and translational and collaborative research at Northwestern University, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center is outstanding. Qualified candidates will hold MD or MD/PhD degrees and be board certified in AP or AP/CP from the American Board of Pathology, as well as be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Illinois. Fellowship training in breast pathology is required. The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled. The expected base pay range for this position is $225,000 - $290,000. Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
