Overview

This is a hybrid position, which includes remote work and in-office attendance.

Must be located in PA, NJ, DE, MD, or VA.

Must be willing to travel to the Lancaster, PA area as needed during internship assignment.

Our Internship Development Program is designed to provide Interns with real-world experience in the banking and financial services industry. An internship with Fulton Bank provides opportunity to build essential skills and explore a career path that matches your interests, while gaining valuable insights into the working life at Fulton. In addition, Interns have the opportunity to build their professional network, grow through professional development opportunities, give back to the community, engage with other Fulton Bank Interns, and connect with other employees through our Employee Resource Groups.

Under close supervision with a designated Supervisor, you will be responsible for observing the policies and procedures within a specific area/department of the Bank. Activities and internship duration vary by assignment. Strong academic performance is required. Previous work, leadership experience, and community involvement is preferred.

  • Work Location & Details:
    • Hybrid: includes remote work and in-person attendance at our office(s) within the Lancaster, PA area, including the Administrative Services Center (1695 State Street East Petersburg, PA) and Corporate Headquarters (1 Penn Square Lancaster, PA).
    • Must express a willingness to attend Internship Program events (mileage reimbursement offered).

    • Relocation package/support is not offered for this position.
  • Work Hours: 20-40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. 8:00am - 5:00pm are standard working hours.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in a wide range of opportunities with tasks in assigned department.
  • Performs assigned duties in designated department to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures and standards required for successful performance.
  • Completes reports on progress in internship program and gives feedback about program to Manager and Talent Acquisition team. Management feedback must indicate satisfactory progress to remain in Internship Program.
  • Intern may also participate in career training/education as needed, as well as, corporate events/initiatives.
  • Duration of Internship is dependent on individual assignment.

Scope of Work:

As a Strategy and Innovation (S & I) Enterprise Architecture (EA) Intern you will be a valued member of the EA team collaborating with other S & I team members. The work you perform will incorporate learning objectives that provides practical experience reflecting real world application of theories learned in your academic programs.

The experience you will gain as an EA intern includes:

  • a basic knowledge and awareness of technologies used in the banking industry.
  • a foundational understanding of how to use Enterprise Architecture methods and tools.
  • a cursory exposure to technology planning, development, and operational challenges.
  • an appreciation of how banking technologies impact our customer lives.
  • familiarity with innovative technology and toolsets such as generative AI, Machine Learning, cloud platforms

The EA Intern position will be a hands-on role that interacts in a variety of engagements with a diverse set of technologies. It is expected that the EA intern will contribute to architecture standards and guidance that promotes our EA objectives to simplify and standardize our banking technologies.

As a member of the EA team, you will be asked to support a broad array of activities that include architecture planning, system design, trade-off analysis, architecture reviews, innovation proof of concept development and standards conformance analysis. In this role, the EA Intern will be expected to adapt to change and be able to work across a variety of technologies, tools, projects, engagements, and teams.

As an Enterprise Architecture Intern, you may participate in:

  • Forums that present technology trade-offs, option analysis, and discuss system issues.
  • Engagements that research emerging technologies and trends to identify courses of action.
  • Building proof of concepts that demonstrate practical uses of innovative technologies like generative AI and machine learning.
  • Supporting infrastructure that's used for innovation use cases
  • Evaluations that identify system and technology options to provide recommendations.
  • Research of background technology vendors, their competitors, and product capabilities.
  • Efforts to create and enhance architecture designs patterns for reuse across project teams.
  • Initiatives to enhance architecture reference models that will be used by technology teams.
  • Projects that create system design artifacts (requirements, specifications, models, configurations).
  • Forums to review system design artifacts created by other teams for architecture compliance.
  • Activities that register and standardize existing system design artifacts in the EA Library.
  • Discussions that review architecture conformance of system design artifacts.
  • Training when required to support an architecture or project deliverable.


Qualifications

Required Education: High School Diploma or the Equivalent Experience

  • Fulton Bank Interns will be expected to have completed, or are currently enrolled and in the process of completing, a four (4) year college degree from an accredited college/university earning a degree.
  • Must have completed a minimum of 15 academic credits/credit hours- equivalent to one semester.
  • A wide range of majors are considered such as: Information Technology, Information Systems/Security, Computer Science, Operations Management, Data and Analytics, and/or other IT related majors. Specialty is dependent on the requirements/needs of each internship assignment.

  • Strong academic performance is required.

Preferred Education:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is strongly preferred.
  • Preference will be offered to rising Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.

Required Experience: 0-6 months

  • 0-6 months previous experience will align to the needs of the assigned department/project. Experience is demonstrated through former employment or co-op, internship, leadership, or community involvement experience.
  • Ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal skills through verbal and written communication, has strong customer service skills, and is a motivated self-starter with drive demonstrating initiative to advance their career.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks/assignments simultaneously, handle and manage a high volume or work, achieve deadlines while producing high quality and accurate products, and work independently and efficiently after instruction has been given.
  • Must be able to professionally handle and prepare sensitive and confidential information.
    Technical skills are required with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

This role may perform other job duties as assigned by the manager. This includes but is not limited to, understanding and identifying compliance risks impacting their department(s), ensuring compliance with applicable laws or regulations, and escalating compliance risks to the appropriate level of management.

Specific compensation offered will be determined based on a combination of factors including the candidate's knowledge, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials. The salary range may vary based on geographic location.

The hourly rate for this temporary position is $17.
