Cybersecurity Architect

Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect in Dallas, TX who will beresponsible for designing and securing technology solutions that align with HF Sinclair's (HFS) strategic objectives. The Architect will apply business and technical acumen to capture business and security requirements, develop and improve security architecture standards, and support the documentation of current and future reference architectures.

The Architect will influence Information Technology and Operational Technology (IT/OT) roadmaps by leading the strategy and approach for how we document, standardize and improve our security posture. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of system architecture, experience with OT security platforms and practices, and the ability to translate requirements into scalable, secure, and reliable technical solutions while also supporting the research and development of initiatives to introduce changes in architecture.

The Architect will partner closely with other architects and technology and business leaders to understand and improve how we align business technology and Cybersecurity initiatives. The Architect will support the continuous improvement of the Cybersecurity risk register accuracy, mitigation plan solutions, and associated business segment security roadmaps.

Job Duties

  • Leads the development and implementation of security architecture standards and guidelines.
  • Participates in and leads architecture reviews and ensures architecture adherence, facilitates security risk trade-off discussions, and tracks architecture deviations.
  • Facilitates and improves the architectural decision-making process, including assessment of technology options. Leads the resolution of complex IT/OT security architectural challenges and conflicts.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends and evaluate their applicability to the organization's needs and drafts risk-aware adoption plans.
  • Promote best practices in technology development, integration, and architecture within the team and the broader organization.
  • Identify potential risks in the solution design and architecture and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that all solutions comply with relevant security, regulatory, and performance standards.
  • Guides and mentors other security and technical team members on security architecture principles and practices. Champions collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate these into technical specifications and solution designs.
  • Collaborates with security and technology executives to influence and shape strategic initiatives. Defines and improves the security architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Present and communicate architectural designs and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.



Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 8+ years of IT Infrastructure and Security is required.

A minimum of 4+ years in an Architecture function is required.

Education Level

A minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Security or related field or a combination of experience and education.

Work Conditions

Office based with travel up to 10% of time by land and air is required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, and out-of-doors environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, fumes or airborne particles, working in confined spaces and exposure to the risk of electrical shock. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions.
