Overview

#CAES is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to learn from our world-class software engineering group. The San Jose team is seeking an intern to support our Thin Film, Packaging, and Environmental Screening Team. In this internship, you will work in a highly motivated team to help support projects tied to development and implementation of production databases and macros. This will be a full-time 3-month onsite Summer internship. This role is in San Jose, CA and there is no relocation available for this role.


Responsibilities

  • Streamline and consolidate existing production databases.
  • Develop automated KPI charts, reports, and queries.
  • Develop Excel macros and visual basic script applications for production use.
  • Create and/or update work instructions explaining how to use databases and applications.
  • Work with production supervisors, engineers, operators, and planners to understand production database needs, obtain feedback, and train them on databases and applications.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Access, Visual Basic Application (VBA), Structured Query Language (SQL), and Microsoft Excel macros.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license.

Preferred:

  • Self-motivated with the ability and desire to work hands-on in a team environment is necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are required to work with a wide variety of people.

Salary Range: $30.00- $35.00 hourly. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
