Senior Port Planner

BA is hiring a Senior Port Planner to join our dynamic Buildings team at our Coral Gables, Florida office. This position is responsible for preparing strategic port plans. Qualified candidates will have worked on planning projects for ports, cruise terminals, and piers.

As a Senior Port Planner at Bermello Ajamil & Partners LLC (BA), a Woolpert company, you will:

Perform advanced professional work related to a variety of planning assignments.
• Prepare strategic port plans
• Coordinate with port authorities, shipping companies, and other stakeholders in ports
• Prepare and present reports to clients and senior management
• Collaborate with engineering teams and other disciplines to design and implement infrastructure projects for ports, terminals, and piers
• Provide effective supervision and management of more junior planners
• Manage budgets and resources effectively to achieve operational goals

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in planning or engineering
• 10+ years of experience in port planning, logistics, or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in data analysis and forecasting tools
• Knowledge of port operations, regulations, and industry best practices
• Ability to work collaboratively with unique teams and stakeholders
• Advanced knowledge of philosophies, principles, practices, and techniques of planning
• Well-versed in port planning including cargo, cruise, industrial and general-purpose ports
• Knowledge of principles, methodology, and practices of research and data collection
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects
• Excellent interpersonal skills for facilitating relationships with elected/appointed officials or other decision-makers
• Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve less well- defined planning problems
• Group facilitation skills for use with community workshops
• Able to multitask to work on several projects or issues simultaneously
• Efficient use time management skills to manage projects effectively and meet firm deadlines
