Scrum Master, Benchmark & Index Management

Key Functions:

As a Scrum Master in Benchmark & Index Management the individual will be responsible for the planning of delivery across the development lifecycle for one or more teams within a scaled agile framework enterprise (SAFe) owning all planning and scrum ceremonies. This role will include teams operating under a Kanban methodology, requiring familiarity with the role of a Service Delivery Manager within Kanban. The candidate will be required to guide and coach global Scrum/Kanban teams to deliver high quality capabilities to internal and external customers. The Scrum Master will support the creation of a high-performance dynamic within teams promoting continuous improvement, self-organisation, building domain expertise and cross-functional skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owns and leads program planning increments and facilitate Scrum/Kanban ceremonies for multiple geographically dispersed teams
  • Collaborates with Product & Technology Owners and Business Analysts to ensure backlog items are refined prior to acceptance into an iteration / sprint
  • Ensure backlog stories meet INVEST criteria
  • Produce Agile metrics and reports for delivery teams and partners, driving data-driven recommendations
  • Mentor and coach teams on Agile practices, the best use of Scrum/Kanban and sharing appropriate supporting tools and techniques
  • Build upon continuous improvement and team retrospectives
  • Encouraging a fail-fast environment and professionalism within your teams
  • Handles risk, dependencies and impediments across teams and ensures risk management and mitigation processes are followed within the project
  • Supporting Program Managers in resource planning and timing of dependencies
  • Conduct progress review reporting on planned outcomes to senior leadership
  • Creates and maintains detailed workstream plans and timelines, tracking delivery against key outcomes
  • Leads issue resolution, providing options and solutions to the team and raising to delivery leadership when required
  • Establish effective working relationships with key partners, demonstrating understanding of their perspective, proactivity, and their delivery focus
  • Gathers feedback on team performance, identifying issues and suggesting improvements
  • Manages planned demo and release cadence for multiple delivery teams

Experience & Skills:

  • Over 5+ years proven experience as a Scrum Master, managing the delivery and reporting of Agile Delivery teams
  • Experience with Kanban methodologies, especially as an alternative to Scrum
  • Prior knowledge of Agile project management tools - JIRA and Confluence
  • In-depth understanding of agile software development projects and lifecycle
  • Strong awareness of modern development practices and microservice based architecture
  • Coaching and mentoring skills focused on the Agile Software Development Methodologies
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels of management and business partners
  • Ability to work collaboratively with geographically dispersed cross-functional teams and team members
  • Certification in Agile methodologies such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or Scaled Agile Certification
  • Preferable understanding of SQL, CI/CD pipelines and AWS
