Job Title: Senior Sales Business Development Executive (Ocean Freight) Job Location: San Diego, CA Job Summary:
- Promotes and sells DHL services to meet sales targets and generate revenue.
- Responds to customer needs and requirements with the appropriate DHL service.
- Maintains a high-level of customer service with existing customers and leverages relationships to expand business.
- Develops relationships with new clients by prospecting and responding to business development leads.
- Monitors and reviews customer sales activity and makes adjustment to processes strategies as needed.
Task
- Leads direct sales of DHL services in defined territory generating profitable sales on new and existing accounts.
- Develop field sales plans that supports increased sales from territory (or region, if applicable) by utilizing available DHL resources.
- Identifies business opportunities, assess customer needs, and matches these with DHL's services to acquire new business. Provides services information and follows up on quote to close business.
- Partners with local, district, and regional management to coordinate customer requests and services that are being promoted.
- Coordinates sales efforts with inside sales and provides flow of date on account competitors and suppliers to product management.
- May provide functional advice or training to less experience field sales positions.

- Develop solutions to non-routing issues, without appreciable guidance from others. Reaches decisions under conditions of uncertainty.
Impact
- May direct major projects or programs with significant business impact within department, area, and business unit.
- Error in judgment or failure to achieve objectives would result in significant program delays and sizeable expenditures of resources to rectify.
Knowledge
- Possess extensive knowledge in specialty area.
- Routinely called upon to apply comprehensive knowledge of existing and emerging technologies, practices and processes.
- Primary contribution is in applying knowledge (product, industry, professional, technical) doing individual contributor work.
- Provides input in development of operating plans/budgets.

Skill Qualifications
- Seasoned professional.
- Concerned with problems that have a direct and important effect on business programs and results.
- Serves as consultant to management on major matters pertaining to policies, plans, and objective.
- State-of-the-art knowledge of technologies, processes, and practices.
- Requires BS/BA in related discipline and 8-11 years of experience in related field or MS/MA and 5-7 years' experience in related field selling ocean freight services.
Pay Range: $79,777.50 - $106,370.00+ (Based on Experience)
