We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client, a dynamic and growth-focused organization committed to operational excellence. This will be a 6-month contract role that will be 100% remote.
This role is responsible for managing the general accounting function, overseeing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, deep expertise in accounting principles, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Oversight
- Oversee the general accounting function, including ledger management and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure all financial practices align with company goals and industry best practices.
- Evaluate and enhance internal accounting processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and executive leadership, to support business objectives.
- Act as a key liaison for external auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory agencies.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable accounting standards.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process streamlining within the accounting function.
- Implement strong internal controls to mitigate risks and maintain financial integrity.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of accounting experience, with demonstrated expertise in general ledger management and financial reporting.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial regulations.
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing teams and mentoring staff.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
