Summary

The Management Planning Senior Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing the development and execution of strategic supply chain management plans and initiatives, including budgeting, cost analysis, productivity tracking, and KPI setting. This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively convey goals, track progress, and report on key performance indicators to stakeholders. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with various departments, including Procurement (Supply Planning), Logistics, Demand Planning, Order Management, and Sales, to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the supply chain.

Responsibilities



  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, leading and directing the work of a team of planning professionals primarily for achievement of overall objectives and strategic alignment.
  • Independently develop the annual SCM budget and present it to the VP of SCM for approval, focusing on the strategic justification and alignment with overall business goals.
  • Responsible for setting priorities for the management planning team, aligning them with the overall SCM strategy and business goals and have significant latitude in making decisions related to planning methodologies, resource allocation, process improvements, budget management, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Independently decide to implement a new analytic and network optimization software after evaluating different options and considering the team's needs and budget constraints.
  • Have a direct impact on the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall performance of LG Electronics USA's supply chain operations. Effective planning, budgeting, and cost management will contribute to improved profitability, customer satisfaction, and enhanced competitiveness in the market.
  • Optimize inventory levels to reduce holding costs by 10% and improve order fulfillment rates by 5%, leading to increased customer satisfaction and cost savings.
  • Have primarily domestic responsibility focusing on LG Electronics USA's operations however, there will be some interaction and coordination with regional or global SCM teams, particularly in relation to strategic planning and cost analysis. Will collaborate with the global SCM team to analyze cost trends in raw materials and identify potential sourcing opportunities in different regions.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in supply chain planning processes, tools, technologies, and cost optimization strategies. This may involve exploring and implementing new planning approaches, leveraging data analytics for improved decision-making, and driving automation initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency such as introducing AI-powered demand forecasting tools to improve forecast accuracy and reduce supply chain disruptions.
  • Have significant latitude in developing and implementing Improvement ideas within the scope of supply chain management planning, budgeting, and cost analysis while championing new approaches and drive positive change within the organization such as initiating pilot projects to test new collaborative planning processes with key suppliers, aiming to improve supply chain agility and responsiveness.
  • Significantly impact innovation within the SCM function, influencing the adoption of new technologies, methodologies, and best practices in supply chain planning, cost management, and performance optimization such as implementing a new transportation management system to improve delivery efficiency and reduce freight costs, setting a new standard for logistics operations within the company.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the Management Planning team. This includes setting team goals, assigning responsibilities, monitoring performance, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Also responsible for developing team members' skills and capabilities through coaching and training opportunities.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field Ideally with a focus on finance or accounting.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with a focus on planning, budgeting, cost analysis, and performance management.
  • Bilingual in English and Korean
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and developing teams.
  • APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management) certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
  • ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of supply chain management principles, planning methodologies, budgeting processes, cost analysis techniques, and performance measurement frameworks.
  • Expertise in demand planning, inventory management, production planning, logistics, and financial analysis is essential.
  • A thorough understanding of different forecasting techniques (e.g., time series analysis, regression analysis) and their applicability to various product categories and demand patterns.
  • Knowledge to be applied both strategically, in developing long-term plans, budgets, and cost optimization initiatives, and operationally, in guiding the execution of day-to-day planning activities and performance monitoring.
  • Ability to share knowledge and expertise with the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles to develop optimal inventory policies for different product categories, considering factors such as lead times, demand variability, and storage costs.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and presentation skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders on goal setting, KPI development, and performance tracking. This will involve regular (weekly and monthly) updates, presentations, and reports to ensure transparency and alignment. Communication channels will include presentations, reports, emails, meetings, and phone calls.
  • Able to prepare and deliver a monthly presentation to the executive team, highlighting key performance indicators, such as on-time delivery, inventory turnover, and cost per unit, and providing insights into supply chain performance trends.
  • Negotiation skills will be important in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes in supply chain planning, budgeting, and cost management. This may involve negotiating with service providers on lead times, pricing, or service levels, or with internal teams on resource allocation or budget approvals. Especially negotiating with key logistics providers to secure more favorable shipping rates and improve delivery lead times for critical components.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with team members, providing constructive feedback and identifying development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge in areas such as demand planning, inventory management, and data analysis.
