Summary of the Job:

This role is responsible to assist business leaders, product owners and project managers with key risk activities throughout discovery, design and implementation for new business initiatives and enhancements. Will work risk backlog based on leadership's priorities and strategic roadmap and acts as primary quarterback to pull in SMEs as needed. This role is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and addressing regulatory and reputational risk as identified.

About This Role:

  • Understand and maintain knowledge of the laws and regulations applicable to the business strategies, products, services, processes, and third parties.
  • Execute and coordinate compliance related projects. Steps included in eachproject may include: reading and interpreting new regulatory requirements, developing and updating risk evaluation of project, process and control mapping, working with impacted business units and risk partners, updating management on project status, and producing summary project summary documentation.
  • Assist business in enacting risk decisions, bring in SME's as needed and have the ability to make 80% of the decisions related to first line business risk.
  • Design, implement and execute controls (directive, preventative, detective) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements to support change management, innovation and other process enhancements
  • Monitor control performance to ensure they are working as intended and actively identify and promptly correct control gaps or weaknesses. Notify management and Compliance of any significant compliance gaps for awareness and/or action
  • Develop and prioritize corrective action and risk mitigation activities, review with compliance as appropriate. Resolve compliance issues/events in a timely manner with documentation of remediation and correct action
  • Continually look for ways to improve the risk ecosystem
  • Exhibit professional behavior and promote positive working relationships.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3+ years' experience in compliance, risk, internal audit, or regulatory experience in the banking industry
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with others at all levels across the organization
  • Knowledge and understanding of consumer compliance regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Ability to work independently and with senior level business unit managers
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong knowledge of general banking with an understanding of deposit, lending, and investment products
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner

Compensation:

Compensation range (base pay): $78,491.00-$129,509.00

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
