Overview
The Yard Coordinator Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of Yard Coordinators positioned at each Blanchard location. This role involves managing yard personnel, developing and implementing processes to manage our various locations in a consistent manner, collaborating across departments including but not limited to sales, rental, service and transportation. Responsibilities
- Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of BMC.
- Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
- Supervise, coach, and develop yard staff, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures including consistently participating in Branch Safety Score discussions.
- Manage yard layout plan across all locations, ensuring effective organization of equipment and optimal space utilization.
- Oversee equipment staging processes for customer pickups, parts transfers, and deliveries.
- Oversee the biweekly inventory scan process to ensure proper counts on current inventory.
- Collaborate with the sales, rental, and service teams to meet operational requirements for machine pickup, staging and appearance.
- Drive a customer first culture that permeates the branches and locations we serve to ensure a consistent product for our customers when they are at our various locations.
- Ensure that the yard is clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Implement safety improvements, such as signage, storage racks, and hazard identification across Blanchard branches.
- Develop and implement processes to drive efficiency across Blanchard's various locations in the way we store, manage, move, and track physical inventory.
- Ensure processes are in place for new, used, recently repaired and rental equipment to ensure machines and attachments are ready for customer pickup and/or delivery.
- Manage shipping and receiving activities, including transfers of assets between locations.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and readiness of yard equipment, including manlifts and other assets.
- Participate in developing strategies for continuous process improvement in yard operations.
- Assist with staging machine displays and keeping the retail lobby equipment up to date.
- Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the success of yard operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Additional technical or vocational training in heavy equipment, preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in yard operations or a related field; prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong record in driving a safety-first culture and empowering teams to prioritize a safe working environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and motivate a team.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs preferred.
- Proficient in using computer systems for daily operations and inventory management including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively both in person and remotely with key stakeholders.
Working Conditions
- The physical environment requires the employee to primarily work inside with occasional travel to meet with customers, attend industry events, and collaborate with association partners.
- Position may require employees to be physically present at designated worksite locations including covering for employees out on leave.
- Will require travel and occasional overnight stays to support team across the region.
- Requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
