Job Summary:



The Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS) is seeking a permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) Course Developer. This position will serve the entry-level PharmD program. The primary role of the course developer will be to assist faculty, instructors, and instructional designers in developing and building courses and exams in the LMS (currently Canvas). This position focuses on the technical and operational aspects of building and maintaining courses to support the instructional designers, faculty, and students.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Course Development & Maintenance: Build, maintain, and update online and face-to-face course content, ensuring timely functionality, accessibility, and alignment with assessment strategies.
  • Learning Management System (LMS) Administration: Create and manage course tools, assessments, and secure online exams using tools like Respondus, while ensuring academic integrity and ADA compliance.
  • Educational Technology Support: Serve as the first point of contact for technology-related concerns from students and faculty, triaging and resolving issues effectively.
  • Faculty Training & Support: Develop relationships with faculty, provide training on course management systems, and support the integration of educational technology in teaching.
  • Assessment & Accessibility: Design and manage program assessment activities and ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., ADA requirements).
  • Project Management & Workflow Tools: Utilize project management tools (e.g., ZenDesk, Scribe) to support workflow and educational design software implementation.
  • Student Engagement Support: Address student concerns related to educational technology and coordinate resolutions in collaboration with appropriate personnel.



Work Location:



Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of at least 2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in education, communications, information technology, information science or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.


  • Experience with course management systems such as Canvas.
  • One (1) year of experience with various instructional technologies and pedagogies, such as audio and video recordings, authoring software, teleconferencing, or a closely related substitute.


Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Professional experience supporting faculty and students in a higher education setting.
  • Experience with client relationship management and media-development software applications.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and a willingness to learn new technologies.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $55,286 - $64,684.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
