Job Description

Assists the Ammunition Logistics Storage Team with a variety of tasks in support of ammunition logistics and operations. Assists with duties including ammunition warehousing; verifying materials against receiving documents; reporting discrepancies and damages; handling standard and non-standard explosives and ammunition; routing materials to prescribed storage locations; and storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods. Reorganizes, and inventories explosives and ammunition components. Operates hand and power trucks. Transports ammunition to various locations including off installation, as directed. Maintains accurate and legible records on various DOD and YPG forms. Operates a forklift moving materials in restricted spaces such as trailers and storage magazines. Accurately and completely applies knowledge of hazard classification, compatibility groups, and placarding requirements. Performs all standard procedures in the sections. Provides guidance and direction to a crew to execute assigned tasks and responsible for completion to task, following applicable safety and security procedures. Performs non-standard and special projects with little or no supervision. Anticipates logistical challenges, develops solutions, and proposes/implements those solutions. Provides training and mentorship to junior personnel in accordance with SOPs, regulations, and policies. Conducts pre-task safety briefing. Requires professional interface with government customers, vendors, truckers, and others. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications

Pay Rate:$32.98

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

*Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
*Must possess a valid Arizona Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with hazardous material endorsement with no restrictions, or obtain one within 60 days of hire.
*Must maintain a current AA&E certification.
*Must successful complete Ammo 45 Certification.
*Must have current DU Ammunition Handler training.
*Must pass the section written exam with a score of 95% or better.
*Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as Ammunition Storage Technician II OR five (5) years of directly relevant ammunition experience and at least one (1) year as an Ammunition Storage Technician II.

Job Skills Requirements:

*Must have a working knowledge of YTC Range procedures
*Must be competent in forklift and other ammunition handling equipment operation.
*Must be competent in accurately and completely applying knowledge of hazard classification, compatibility groups, condition codes, and placarding requirements.
*Must be competent in performing standard procedures specified in Group and Section SOPs.
*Must be proficient in ammunition storage, handling, and transportation requirements.
*Must have excellent forklift and equipment operating skills.
*Must have in depth knowledge of AA&E Physical Security requirements.

Physical Requirements:

*Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
*Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
*Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
*Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Ammunition Logistics.
*Must be capable of lifting 110 lbs. chest high unassisted repeatedly during the day.
*Must be able to lift and transport 75 lbs. unassisted over uneven ground for 50 feet.
*Must be capable of frequent squatting, crouching, and stooping
*Must be tolerant of frequent weapons systems firings.
*Must not have color vision deficiency.

*Must be able to work both as part of a team and independently.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

*Military munitions training.
*Two years of experience in ammunition warehousing.

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:

*Must be a U.S. Citizen.
*Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
*Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
