Ballard Spahr LLP is seeking a junior paralegal in our Baltimore office to work with lawyers both inside and outside the department to provide the highest quality of legal assistance to our clients. The junior paralegal shall possess a mastery of technical and administrative skills, assume responsibility with minimal supervision, exercise initiative and judgment to make decisions within the scope of their assigned authority, work individually and as part of a team, and practice collaboration with firm employees in all offices. This hybrid position offers a work schedule of 3 days a week in the office.

Your Role:

As a Junior Paralegal within our Finance department, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the due diligence, preparation of documents and assistance with closings.

  • Assist with title and survey review on real estate finance transactions

  • Prepare routine transaction documents.

  • Assist with researching federal, state and local laws.

  • File UCCs and other required filings.

Required Experience:

Minimum requirements include a four-year college degree or paralegal certificate, however, significant relevant work experience will be considered in place of college degree. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, intermediate level of technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel) and document management systems. Must be able to work overtime, as needed. Strong proofreading skills, research, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential to be successful in this position.

Time worked in excess of 40 hours per week will be paid at time and one half of the hourly rate. The salary range for this position is from $55,000 - $65,000 depending upon experience and location.
