Commercialization Analyst

Description The Analyst will conduct the evaluation of early-stage technologies and provide analytical support for Innovation Ventures. The Analyst will conduct market research and provide intelligence and insights that help with competitive analyses. The Analyst will develop business plan documents, pitch decks, comparative analyses, research market trends. Perform commercial analysis and coordination, including conducting comprehensive technical reviews of scientific studies, research, and analysis in the areas of advanced technology development. Utilize quantitative and qualitative approaches to manage and analyze research data from public and proprietary datasets. Use this foundational data to extrapolate strategies for advancing new technologies/products to market. Develop recommendations on market entry points for new technologies, geographic expansion opportunities for established products. Conduct literature reviews which include a combination of technical and business content. Utilize project management, databases and communication tools to report program initiatives, progress and outcomes to leadership. Creatively address organizational concerns by devising tools, metrics, and dashboards to manage and report on projects, gauge progress, outcomes and successes. Support the work of Innovation Ventures in developing collaborations between internal and external research laboratories, federal agencies, universities, and the private sector on the basis of specific technology areas to build partnerships. Identify new funding and collaboration opportunities with pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies, universities, foundations, Venture Capital firms.

Qualifications Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in biological or physical sciences (Required)

Minimum Work Experience
2 years Minimum 2 years of experience in a tech transfer, tech commercialization, or related domain where the incumbent has performed intellectual property assessment, market opportunity assessment, financial modeling, generation of business reports/analyses - related to physical sciences (medical devices, digital health, software algorithms) (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experienced in department budget and personnel administration and communication.
Computer Skills - Excel, Microsoft Word, Access, & PowerPoint.
Intellectual property management.
Excellent market research related to physical sciences (medical devices, digital health, software algorithms).

Administrative Support
  • Lead the analytic and marketing administrative tasks for Innovation Ventures
  • Lead the development of new policies and procedures related to technology due diligence to meet Innovation Ventures needs.
  • Provide management level support to VP and Chief Innovation Officer about collaborations between internal and external research laboratories, federal agencies, universities, and the private sector on the basis of specific technology areas to build partnerships.
  • Lead the tasks related to the website updates, IN-PART updates, and maintain customer relationship management task by keeping a roster of all collaborators, partners, and internal clients
  • Perform other office duties as needed
Budget Management
  • Responsible for data for management decision making Committees and Meetings
  • Responsible for tracking license costs, associated reimbursements, and income
Operational Support
  • Identify new funding and collaboration opportunities with pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies, universities, foundations, Venture Capital firms.
  • Proven superior understanding of life sciences sector in general and product development/commercialization pathway in particular.
  • Experience and educational background to support market opportunity assessment, financial modeling or life sciences business consulting preferred.
  • Ability to work in a small team to perform primary/secondary market research on competitors, markets and customer segments.
  • Experience collaborating with team members to derive trends, conclusions, and recommendations based on market research and product/technology evaluation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage/support multiple projects simultaneously.
