OverviewWe are hiring a Senior Revenue Recognition Finance Manager to join our Finance Organization. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to work in a high performing team at a world class company. The Microsoft Operations Finance Revenue Recognition teamis responsible for the reporting accuracy of billions of dollars of revenue across the world for both US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and local statutory reporting. ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review peer completed complex contract reviews in compliance with Microsoft's ASC606 accounting policies and guidelines to document accounting conclusions and calculate revenue adjustmentsEngage with deal desk for upfront consultation on deals to influence deal construct and drive compliance within MS empowerment guidanceMay review peer work product for completeness and accuracyPrepare exposure analysis and provide recommendations to mgmtPerform month end close revenue tasksAct as global lead for aspects of Quarter-end Revenue Close ProcessRepresents functional point of view in critical cross-functional and cross-company forumsDevelop deep understanding of MS revenue policies to effectively field complex questions from business partners and leadership.Prepare and review contract and consultation data to drive consistent policy application, identify business trends, and prepare summaries for managementInvestigate and resolves business partner inquiries, accounting deviations, and other data anomaliesContributes to process-improvement efforts by collecting and reviewing business partner and team feedback and incorporating industry best practices.Assist with internal and external audit queries on revenue recognition.Identify and assess financial statement risk to provide input on initiatives to enhance control compliance with US GAAP and SOX.Subject matter expert to represent Ops Finance in support of global or regional projects.OtherEmbody our culture and values |
