Departmental Overview

NRHS is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the float pool. New Float Pool Healers will be trained in both clinical and clerical duties, and be capable of functioning as a Clerk at the Check In/Out area of the clinic as well as helping in a clinical role as well. The specialty clinic float pool team supports all of the NRHS Clinic Network which. As a float pool healer, you will step into a clinic as needed and ensure that patients are roomed, vitals are taken, charts are completed, and that all patients have an excellent experience in NRHS specialty clinics. This position represents a great opportunity to learn how providers in many different clinics care for their specific patient population.


Job Summary

  • Screens patient and obtains pertinent information.
  • Assists physician or advanced practitioner during patient visit in accordance with age specific needs.
  • Assists the physician or advanced practitioner in all aspects of patient care and communication as instructed.
  • Maintains the exam rooms and work environment.
  • Provides support to the clinic as needed.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience required.

Experience

  • Prefer at least one year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care.
  • Experience in office clerical activities desirable.

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience).

Licensure/Certification

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.
  • CMA or RMA preferred.

Compensation/Benefits

  • $13.74-$22.44/hr depending on previous work experience.
