Job Summary and Responsibilities

SUMMARY:

Builds-out telecommunications devices and assemblies that are mechanical or electro-mechanical in configuration; typically containing a rack or cabinet, shelves, antennas, radios, brackets, assemblies, alarms, cabling and other associated telecommunications devices. These assemblies may need to be fully populated and complex in nature and are assembled with attention to detail and quality needed to meet or exceed KGP and customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Detailed knowledge with wireless or wireline service provider infrastructure deployments and installations
  • Detailed knowledge wiring and cabling including AC, DC, ground, RF, Coax, ethernet, fiber, multi-pair, and other cabling.
  • Ability to test, program, and integrate wireless infrastructure and equipment.
  • Assembly, installation, and cabling of Telecommunications gear, racks, power components, and other equipment.
  • Fabricate and install power and signal cabling, including lugs, RJ45 connectors, alarm connections, dressing, labeling, lacing, and similar cable installation activities
  • General knowledge of Telecom industry installation safety and outage protocol requirements
  • Ability to create processes and standards for wireless infrastructure installations.
  • Familiarity with updating telecom equipment firmware and loading site configurations, databases, and software.
  • Able to test and validate Telecom infrastructure using test equipment, terminal and command line interfaces, multimeters, and similar test equipment
  • Familiarity with MS Office tools including Word, Excel, and the ability to create pivot tables
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Understand and follow KGP Safety practices.
  • Quality awareness and ability to implement quality control processes and procedures.
  • Learn and demonstrate the proper use of tools associated with assembly-wire-test.
  • Unpacking, checking for damaged product, inventory of all job-related materials.
  • Current on KGP AWT assembly practices and documentation to include interpretation of Engineering drawings, specifications and prints.
  • Supervised assigned physical and mechanical assembly activities, including cabling, power connections and grounding.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent or possess moderate electromechanical assembly experience.
  • Responsibilities include knowledge of and experience with assembly and construction of electromechanical devices for rack, cabinet and enclosure products.
  • Employee inventories hardware materials including receipt, inspection for damage or defect and confirms counts; physically builds the assembly following customer's engineering specifications and drawings with minimal guidance from AWT Supervisor.
  • Requires demonstrated ability to learn and understand basic electromechanical processes.
  • Requires ability to learn, read and understand technical drawings, schematics and documentation; must have the ability to learn electrical color codes.
  • Minimum of two years of AWT Assembler 3 time in grade or documented proficiency before eligible for promotion to AWT Assembler 4.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
