The Paper Mill Reliability Engineer is responsible for managing and leading the mechanical reliability function within the mill. This role focuses on ensuring the safety, environmental compliance, reliability, production, and quality goals of the mill are met. The engineer will develop and execute reliability programs to maintain and improve the reliability of machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement reliability programs to enhance the performance and longevity of mill equipment.
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) to identify and correct issues affecting equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure effective execution of reliability strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize maintenance practices and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all reliability activities.
  • Provide technical support and training to maintenance personnel on reliability best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably in a paper mill or similar industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Certification in reliability engineering (e.g., Certified Reliability Engineer - CRE).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for reliability engineering.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require occasional travel to other mill locations.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

Compensation:

  • The annual base salary range for this role is from $100,560 to $113,130, plus an annual target bonus of 7.5% of base salary.
