Summary

Sr Data Governance Analyst


The Sr. Data Governance Analyst plays a critical role in developing and supporting an enterprise-wide data and analytics governance program. This role works closely with business stakeholders, data stewards, and IT teams to develop standards, policies, and processes that ensure the reliability, usability, security, and compliance of data and analytics assets.

Responsibilities

The Company is one of North America's leading sales and marketing agencies specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management, and marketing services to manufacturers, suppliers, and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods. The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers. We bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers, providing consumers access to the best products available in the marketplace today.

Responsibilities

    Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and other legal requirements related to data management.
  • Design data structures that support and deliver capability aligned to and enforcing data governance.
  • Document and maintain data standards, partnering with functional and business data owners.
  • Identify potential data risks and vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies to protect data integrity and security.
  • Generate reports on data quality metrics, compliance status, and data governance adherence to inform decision-making.
  • Perform data profiling and database structure research to understand relevant data elements along with their definitions and use.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct Reports
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports.
Indirect Reports
Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work to others and provide guidance, direction, and mentoring to indirect reports.

Travel
Travel is minimal. around 5% can be expected.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience Requirements: 8-10 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment with a special focus on how data relates to functional requirements.
  • Proficiency in data cataloging tools.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data quality frameworks, and best practices.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate within/across teams.
  • Skilled in data cataloging, data analysis, data privacy, data security, data modeling, data lineage, data profiling, and business analysis.

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically, requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs.
