Description

Position Summary & Responsibilities:
This internship is anticipated to run from middle of May - August 2025 working an average of 40 hours a week. This role is based in Durham, NC with a five day per week onsite requirement. Relocation Assistance is not available for this position.
Utilize Continuous Improvement tools/methodology to better understand the process performance in manufacturing. To develop and deploy Lean Six Sigma practices in the analysis of manufacturing processes. The job role will help to improve manufacturing efficiencies by identifying waste and variation within BacT production.
  • Perform process flow mapping in key areas of production.
  • Analyze and interpret flow mapping results with an emphasis on determining value add/non-value add activities.
  • Utilize Lean tools such as line balancing, takt time, process maps, spaghetti diagrams, current/future state, 8 forms of waste.
  • Recommend changes to manufacturing process flow in order to reduce waste.
  • Learn basic Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology.
Education, Skills, & Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED is required and must be actively enrolled in an academic program/institution pursuing a degree.
    • Engineering or Engineering Technology majors are desired
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is preferred
  • Autodesk Suite experience is desired
  • Previous work experience is preferred, ideally in a Manufacturing or Warehouse setting
