Organizational Unit Overview
Internal Medicine is home to seven fellowships and two residency programs. In recent years collaboration and funding have come from many national recognized organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, Health Resources and Service Administration, American Heart Association, NC Department of Health and Human Services. More locally, we have partnered with ECU Health Foundation, Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, North Carolina Biotechnology Center, and the Pitt County Health Department. Additionally, Internal Medicine participates in many pharmaceutical sponsored clinical trials.
Job Duties
The Business Services Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for senior leaders, managers, and employees on personnel policies, procedures, guidelines, and directives for CSS and SHRA staff within the department. The Business Services Coordinator works closely with the BSOM Business & Administrative Affairs HUB: to facilitate the employment of qualified candidates; coordinates EPAF information for CSS and SHRA actions; manages employment for temps and students; keeps track of time-limited employees; handles performance evaluations in People Admin for new employees and transfers. The individual will serve as one of the Kronos SuperAdmins for the 11 divisions within the department and assist other divisions as needed. The Business Services Coordinator will receive cross-training to assist the EHRA Faculty & Non-Faculty Employment Representative. As part of the job responsibilities, the Business Services Coordinator will be expected to multi-task, use strong organizational skills, and utilize a collaborative work ethic.
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
License or Certification required by statute or regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

  • Experience in application and interpretation of recruitment, salary administration and/or employment policies with experience in personnel administration in a technical or administrative capacity.


  • Experience in administrative services in a clinical department.
