Assembly Team Leader

The Assembly Team Leader ensures
efficient and effective running of Assembly in highly productive and quality
driven manner. The Assembly Team Leader is expected to demonstrate strong communication
skills with employees ATL, and supervisors. The Assembly Team Leader is responsible for leading
employees; reviewing and reporting quality results to team; addressing good/
poor performance thru effective communication; setting clear expectations for
team; monitoring equipment/daily production checks; scheduling and staffing;
and reporting to Manager with department updates, issues, and potential
solutions. This is a highly visible, active supervisory position where the Assembly Team Leader may need to fill in on the floor frequently at times and should be spending most
of the time on the floor.

Our Assembly department in Belleville, IL is now looking for a Assembly Team Leader.

Key Tasks

Accomplishes assembly manufacturing staff Job results by:
Communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring,
and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining employees;
initiating, coordinating, enforcing systems, policies and procedures.

Maintains Efficient WORKFLOW by:
Monitoring steps of the process; setting processing
variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and
resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting
procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process
control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and
between departments.

MANAGES EFFECTIVE RESOURCES BY:
Completing weekly work schedules, coordinating labor,
material, and equipment to meet daily production schedule; assigning personnel
to specific duties to cover for absent employees, to rotate responsibilities,
or assign tasks for the assembly line; deciding on use of casual overtime.

SUPPORTS
OPERATIONS BY:
Adjusting details in ERP for customs; scheduling glue
barrel changes and glue applicator roller changes; conveying quality
information to team quickly; conducting root cause analysis; taking actions
when needed for continued improvement.
Team Leader should be
trained in all positions and highly knowledgeable about all positions in
assembly. This will help give the TL the knowledge needed to effectively
support operations.

Completes production plan by:
Scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work
results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules;
resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow; ensuring the shift meets
production goals; reviewing quality reports and failures from final quality
assurance. Ensuring daily production numbers are sent daily.

MAINTAINS
EMPLOYEE ATTENDANCE STANDARDS BY:
Entering attendance points; communicates attendance
points to employees; draft discipline for employees with attendance issues as
violation levels are met.; approving PTO requests and timecards.

Maintains quality service by:
Enforcing
organizational standards and evaluating/analyzing quality reports; relaying the
information to the appropriate resource; keeping error rates minimal and within
acceptable ranges; implementing cost reductions; maintaining an efficient work
pace; meeting and exceeding all performance measurements: quantity, accuracy,
timeliness, and thoroughness of work performed.

Provides communication support by:
Communicating across departments to all
levels of management and staff relative information pertaining to department
resources and product quality.

Resolves personnel problems by:
Investigating issues; identifying solutions;
recommending/taking actions in a timely manner.

Accomplishes employee training objectives by:
Recruiting,
selecting, training and orienting employees; identifying training needs, ensuring proper training is provided and
skill check sheets are properly documented for all staff employees, orienting
new employees.

Your Background

  • Must
    be skill checked on all positions within the assigned department. Additionally,
    must be skill checked on all non-positional work instructions within the
    assigned department. Has direct reports and is responsible for completing
    timecards, performance management, and disciplinary actions. Also responsible
    for reporting maintenance issues, ensuring quality standards within the
    assigned department are met daily and that production goals are met.
  • Ability to read and
    interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions,
    and procedure manuals. Ability to write
    routine reports and correspondence.
    Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of
    the organization.
  • Basic
    personal computer skills including email, routine database activity, Microsoft
    Word and Excel, and ERP aptitude
