This position is responsible for the supervision of safe and efficient field operations for assigned job site(s). This position specializes in Water & Wastewater Facility Construction. This primarily includes Water Treatment Plants, Wastewater Facilities, and Lift/Pump Stations. The Mechanical Foreman will supervise the lay out and installation of various piping systems and process equipment. The Mechanical Foreman will be responsible for leading the crew in production, quality, and safety with assistance from the project superintendent. Conducts all work in accordance with Allan Myers policies, procedures, and programs.

Responsibilities:

    Demonstrates technical proficiency in multiple aspects of one of the following work processes:
    • Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for mechanical crew assign work activities, projects, and programs; review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures; meet with crew and project team to identify and resolve problems.
    • Experience working with mechanical pipe systems and equipment including DIP, SS, PVC, CPVC, Fiberglass, HDPE, Copper, and Steel.
    • Understands the mechanics for sewage pumping stations and treatment plants, bridges, culverts, water distribution, treatment systems and chemical feed dosage. Ability to read pipe layout drawings, Pipe schematics, perform layout, groove and thread pipe, set mechanical equipment including pumps, process skids, and WT/WWT equipment.
    • Experienced in large bore and small bore process piping systems. Including flanged joint, restrained joint, welded and threaded applications.
    • Can install miscellaneous metals and tankage/equipment.
    • Expected to solve through experienced judgment most problems of detail or unusual situations by adapting methods or interpreting instructions to resolve the particular problem.
  • Supervises hourly crewmembers and plans/schedules manpower and equipment as needed.
  • Manages deliveries from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure safety, profit, scheduling compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Follows the Allan Myers Safety Program including preplanning to identify conditions and exposures, proper safety and personal protective equipment and accident investigation and reporting.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other Field Managers, Superintendents, and the customer to implement successful project plans.
  • Provides on the job training to crewmembers for assigned tasks.
  • Communicates performance expectations for productivity, quality, and safety to crews and ensures progress towards expectations.
  • Administers timely and accurate documentation for project-related activities including change orders, time and materials, purchase orders, daily job control reports and receiving slips/invoices.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required (continuing education in construction highly desirable).
  • Minimum 2 years of construction experience in at least one trade discipline (i.e., excavation, pipe, concrete, or paving) with one or more years construction supervisory experience preferred.
  • 5 Years of Mechanical foreman experience on WTP/WWTP projects.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience working at a Industrial or wastewater treatment plant, preferably Heavy Civil.
  • OSHA 10 hour required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
