Job Description

This is a year-round position located in Everett, Washington reporting to the West Coast Operations Manager.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Responsible for fulfilling the contractual requirements in the DDG homeport supporting DDG 51 class ships. This includes providing on-site liaison support between BIW Planning Yard, NAVSEA PMS 421 / 451 and assigned ships. Maintaining situational awareness of DDG 51-class availabilities, from advance planning through execution.
  • Providing direct and continuous liaison support between all Navy activities (ship's company, Northwest Regional Maintenance Center, Program Manager Representatives, Supervisor of Shipbuilding, and major ship repair yards) and the Planning Yard in Maine on all matters related to DDG 51-class ships.
  • Functioning as an integral member of the Program Manager Representative (PMR) team in support of the Navy's Fleet Modernization Plan and supporting the resolution of all platform issues.
  • Providing visitor coordination for all Everett home port Planning Yard activities. This includes managing support service requests, ship coordination, ship check team logistics support, and facility access.
  • Providing Planning Yard design and material status reports, deliverables, and various homeport functions in support of the DDG 51 contract.
  • Providing remote support to other BIW programs and functional areas as needed.
  • Support hands-on material turnover at various shipyard facilities, requiring travel to and from various homeport locations (no more than 20% travel).


Required/Preferred Education/Training

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in a technical or business discipline and/or equivalent work experience, or a BIW Apprentice graduate; however, an undergraduate degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline is preferred.


Required/Preferred Experience

  • A solid Planning Yard background and understanding is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of collective experience in marine engineering or design, USN, or command fleet lifecycle support in the areas of maintenance and repair is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of DDG 51-class ships, along with experience in a Navy waterfront maintenance environment, is preferred.
  • Strong computer, oral, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to effectively manage priorities and meet scheduling demands.
  • Ability to lift/carry 45 lbs.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
    • This position requires you to be able to obtain a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen for consideration and you must be able to obtain an interim security clearance within the first 45 days of hire.
