The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for orchestrating and maturing their Sales Team's ability of consistently nurturing, strengthening, and developing existing and target customers. The ASM is to position their team to align customer's & targets individual on-going objectives with SRS solutions - positioning SRS from being more than simply a supplier - to being utilized often and early as an on-going Trusted Advisor. In addition, our ASM's are charged to assist in the development and implementation of the corporate sales strategy that meets company performance objectives - KPI's. The Area Sales Manager leads ateam of Territory Managers, Sales Support Representatives & Inside Sales Representatives andensures company standards are ingrained in everything we do. The Area Sales Manager motivates, coaches, recognizes, and provides a positive culture through daily interactions. The focus is on continuous improvement - striving to be the best. Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Create a productive environment and lead with a sense of urgency. Communicate your expectations for the completion of Territory Manager, Sales Support Representatives & Inside Sales Representatives responsibilities and follow up weekly to ensure they are completed accurately and on time.
  • Work closely with Territory Managers, Sales Support Representatives, & Inside Sales Representatives to ensure a productive plan - daily, weekly, monthly.
  • Travel with Territory Managers to coach and provide feedback on their presentation skills, organization, and sales techniques.
  • Seek and engage talent for opportunities within the company. Recruit people with the ability and ambition to advance in the company.
  • Mentor and coach Sales Representatives to achieve sales growth through onboardingnew customers and development of existing accounts, increase active accounts and providea consistent high level of customer service.
  • Drive achievement of regional product plans
  • Communicate knowledge of personnel, customers, and competition to senior leadership.
  • Assist Human Resources with resume evaluation and employment interviews for prospective new talent
  • Utilize company events and promotions to further customer relationships.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Manage relationships with key, business critical accounts to ensure strategic alignment
  • Mentor and coach Territory Managers, Sales Representatives to become the trusted resource in their geographic area.
  • Lead the onboarding, training, and development of Territory Managers Sales Support Representatives, & Inside Sales Representatives.
  • Invest in the retention and development of employees to create a 'bench' of talent for promotion within the company.
  • Complete Performance Assessments when warranted. Use them to coach the correct behavior and recognize outstanding performance
  • Conduct Performance Evaluations of employees
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Proven success in selling products within a B2B environment and managing multi-million-dollar territories.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the distribution industry, with a strong track record of sales to local contractor bases. Experience leading high-performing sales teams is a plus.
  • Ability to assist in the development, management, and execution of sales and marketing campaigns to achieve KPIs.
  • Passion for being a strategic business partner to customers by providing tools and products that drive their sales and profitability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred for effective communication with vendors, customers, and team members.

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks, including criminal and driving history, and a drug test.
  • Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation for local travel within the territory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Alternatively, 1-2 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and training will be considered.
Physical Requirements: * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at times. * Ability to work in varying weather conditions
