Senior Designer, Product (UI)

MRM New York is hiring a Senior Designer, Product for the Design and Experience team. You will be involved in all aspects of product design and development, from research and ideation, through detailed design and testing, to implementation and learning. You'll help drive the roadmap, presenting and evaluating options, and crafting the approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces for digital products, websites, or applications.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including UX designers, product managers, and developers to ensure a seamless and cohesive user experience.
  • Translate design concepts into high-quality visual designs that align with brand guidelines and design standards.
  • Create pixel-perfect UI elements, icons, and graphics using design tools such as Figma and Adobe suite.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging design patterns, and best practices to continuously improve the visual aesthetic and usability of the products.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure the successful implementation of designs and provide guidance during the development process.
  • Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to iterate on designs and optimize the user interface.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to present design concepts and effectively communicate design decisions and rationale.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of design systems, style guides, and UI pattern libraries to ensure consistency across projects.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a UI designer, or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing well-rounded product design projects with result-driven case studies demonstrating the ability to articulate design decisions and design systems.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Adobe Suite.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, visual design principles, and typography.
  • Strong knowledge of UI patterns, design systems, and best practices for responsive and mobile-first design.
  • Ability to create visually appealing designs that align with brand guidelines and enhance the overall user experience.
  • Excellent understanding of color theory, composition, and visual hierarchy.
  • Attention to detail and ability to create pixel-perfect designs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with prototyping tools and techniques to create interactive and engaging UI prototypes.

The salary range for this position is $45,000 to $160,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; the associated discipline; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee's/applicant's background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
