Job Description

Materials Handler Job Description:

  • Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment
  • Reviews orders, picks inventory in the warehouses and prepares for delivery
  • Loading, unloading and moving products and materials by hand or by using equipment such as a forklift
  • Counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking products of various sizes to make sure shipments are safe
  • Keeping the area safe and ensuring the safety of other warehouse workers
  • Working with others within the warehouse and managers to make sure daily procedures are done.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school degree or equivalent and 2+ years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude including ability to use hand tools
  • Applies general math skills including fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Familiar with SAP inventory management a plus
  • Ability to speak distinctly and see and hear clearly
  • Adhere to safety procedures consistent with the use of hand and power tools
  • Forklift operation experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds is required
  • May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing
  • May require long periods of standing
  • May require the use of Personal Protection equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more dangerous element or conditions such as chemicals, moving mechanical parts, etc.
  • Able to operate various forklift and pallet jacks.

Hours Of Operation

  • Day Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, Flexible schedule for voluntary overtime before 8am weekdays. Saturdays 7am - 12pm as needed

Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training.
