Job Purpose

Design processes for Assembly Department that are safe and efficient. Use analytic tools and traditional industrial engineering methods to optimize Department production functions.

Key Accountabilities



  • Use Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (M.O.S.T). to develop balanced processes across manufacturing areas. Work to achieve high Process Efficiency. Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques. Design processes that are simple and achieve SQCDM targets.
  • Audit and maintain big data to ensure accurate information across all Operations standards
  • Perform time estimates for Production Processes, equipment loads, and develop Operation Standards
  • Assembly Department Lead for Process Data Development and Analysis (PDDA), Manufacturing Data Reporting System (MDRS), Electronic Operation Standards ( EOS ) systems
  • Regularly lead meetings with other Honda functional groups to develop and launch improvement themes (Quality, Safety, Delivery, Production, Purchasing, Packaging, or Logistics).
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste within the process and improve efficiency. Apply 5S work methods, workstation design, and set best practices for production.
  • Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.
  • Support New Model Events. Forecast design impact to department. Incorporate change points into process design. Identify concerns and countermeasure before mass production.
  • Maintain accurate AutoCAD department layout.
  • Develop Plans and Schedules for projects. Set timelines and detailed activities. Hold meetings with cross functional engineering groups to ensure completeness.
  • Project support for all items impacting Stamping/ Plastics Department Associate Process.
  • Collect feedback from the production floor and address their concerns.
  • Read Parts drawings, Spec Notices, 3D CATIA data.
  • Create charts and presentations to report status and plans for key department metrics.



Qualifications, Experience and Skills



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing) or 8 years related experience in Engineering.
  • 2-8 years of experience based on education
  • Excel, Standard Time Evaluation, Workstation Design, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Customer Service, AutoCAD, Catia



Workstyle



  • First shift production hours. Occasional split shift, second, and third shift support required.
  • 0-5 hours OT weekly.
  • 25% Fast-paced high-energy manufacturing environment, 75% office environment.
