Job Description

We are currently hiring a Sr. Strategic Sourcing Lead, Packaging in Breinigsville, PA.

The Procurement Senior Strategic Sourcing Lead is responsible for formulating, communicating, and executing category management and strategic sourcing strategies designed to enable commercial growth and profitability for the Boston Beer Company. This individual will establish and implement best sourcing practices by applying spend analysis, supply market expertise, and use of eSourcing tools to optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) when executing developed strategies. Additionally, the individual will proactively and consistently manage key suppliers' strategic and operational relationships for assigned categories and partner with internal stakeholders and sourcing team colleagues to implement innovation projects, drive efficiencies, deliver supplier quality improvements, and reduce risks while improving costs.

What You'll Brew:

Category Management:



  • Analyze industry trends and technology.
  • Build and maintain category strategies.
  • Develop and maintain global supply market knowledge.
  • Establish metrics and processes for supplier performance


Strategic Sourcing:



  • Formulate sourcing strategies.
  • Draft Statements of Work (SOWs) and execute sourcing events.
  • Lead development and execution of sourcing and negotiation strategies.


Supplier Relationship Management:



  • Address supplier issues and disputes.
  • Manage strategic relationships with key suppliers.
  • Lead supplier business reviews and track KPIs and SLAs.


Contract Management:



  • Maintain contractual and business relationships with suppliers.
  • Manage Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and contract reviews.


Operational Procurement:



  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams for new systems and processes.
  • Manage Purchase Orders and communicate updates on service and supply.


Other Responsibilities:



  • Support strategic drivers and activities.
  • Handle after-hours activities during crises or emergencies.


What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:



  • 6+ years in category management, sourcing, contract negotiations, supplier management, risk management, and/or project management.


Required Skills:

Level: 5

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $85,800 and $135,000. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and certain sales roles might include a car allowance.
