What You Will Do:

  • Ensure a safe work environment by following and enforcing all safety standards and procedures.

  • Improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, cost) and enhance subordinates' skills and capabilities.

  • Prepare activity plans and discuss them with the manager.

  • Assist Product Line Leaders in improving production control systems, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and performance management.

  • Communicate daily with Product Line Leaders.

  • Ensure effective employee relations by providing coaching and development, making employment decisions, resolving employee issues, and ensuring adherence to company policies.

  • Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to the manager.

  • Track absenteeism, timekeeping, and production.

  • Create a high-performance worksite based on trust and respect, and teach principles of operational excellence and lean manufacturing.

  • Lead daily team meetings to align teams with the vision and strategy.

  • Follow personal standard work to achieve the five critical outputs of a leader: Shared Vision, Shared Strategy, Skilled People, Systems, and Shared Culture.

  • Motivate employees, drive change, and sustain results.

  • Follow the PDCA method to solve problems and maintain output.

  • Develop team development and cross-training plans.

  • Read and follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete work according to product specifications.

  • Read and understand product specifications, drawings, and prints.

  • Use hand-held measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures to inspect and measure parts for accuracy and conformance to product specifications.

  • Participate in continuous training in Lean, Kaizen, PDCA, and other principles of Operational Excellence.

  • Lead or participate in department projects.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Details:

  • 4 day -10hr shift, Monday - Thursday, 4:15pm - 2:45pm

  • Employee will train on first shift (5:30am - 4:15pm) for 2 - 4 weeks based on experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Must have experience working in a manufacturing environment preferably machining experience.

  • Contributes to the department continuous improvement culture.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed

  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others.

  • Ability to think ahead, plan over a 30-day time span, and prepare action plans to achieve results.

  • Experience in supervision, including employee hiring and retention, performance review, and discipline.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in math and analytical skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Effective negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Criminal background check

  • Color contrast eye examinations are required to be completed at the employer's discretion or due to requirement to ensure team members maintain optimal visual acuity, which is crucial for accurate performance of the responsibilities of this position.

Preferred

  • Technical/ Vocational School

  • Progress toward advanced safety designations from an accredited program (CSP, COSS, CSHO, CSHS)

  • Experience in the Oil & Gas Industry

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to pick, feel, and/or inspect material. The employee will also reach with arms and hands as needed.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

  • The employee is regularly required to stand for a full shift.

  • Role is deemed safety sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
