Requisition ID req32236 Working Title Communication & Outreach Spec Position Grade 12 Position Summary The UNM Health Sciences Marketing and Communication team is looking for a dynamic, creative, and organized content creator. Selected candidate will support planning, development, and production for internal and external communications projects, including the HSC Newsroom and other HSC publications. Selected candidate will participate in developing and designing communications projects, including comprehensive print/online presentations, speech development, community outreach events, and other related activities. Some skillsets we're looking for include: * Demonstrated ability to generate story ideas, conduct interviews and write news-style articles on diverse subjects on tight deadlines. * Strong copy-editing skills. * Knowledge of journalism principles, especially with regard to accuracy, fairness, ethics, and balance. * Ability to adapt material to suit the needs of the target audience while maintaining a coherent and appropriate style and tone. * Working familiarity with the Associate Press Stylebook. * Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, community members, and a wide range of stakeholders. * Working familiarity with local, national, and health care news media. * A team player who thrives working in team settings and with others. Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
