SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
The Senior Manager Operations Technology (OT) will support the design, implementation, and oversee operations and maintenance of the operational technology (OT) infrastructure and network systems (on-prem at RGLNG and within the ND enterprise cloud-based systems). This role involves strategizing, ideating, defining, designing, implementing, operating and maintaining, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the reliability and security of OT systems. The Senior Manager OT will collaborate with various teams to support the organization's technology needs. This individual will champion the convergence of OT and IT.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with defining, designing and implementing the OT software/hardware at the plant and enterprise
  • Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure all requirements are defined and executed to meet the ND IT/OT organization needs
  • Continuously monitor the plant OT network infrastructure performance and identify potential issues that could impact operational efficiency
  • Coordinate the requirements for routine operations and maintenance tasks, including software updates, patch management, and hardware inspections as well as design modifications and updates as required
  • Utilize network monitoring tools to analyze network traffic, identify anomalies, and diagnose network problems
  • Generate reports on network performance and identify trends that require further investigation
  • Support the OT Infrastructure/Network Engineer and OT Security Lead with tool Proof-of-Concepts (POCs), requirements gathering, and reporting tasks
  • Assist network, data, and architecture engineers in troubleshooting complex network issues and implementing solutions
  • Oversee complex restores, periodic validation, application monitoring, simple restores, and compliance reporting for backup and restore systems.
  • Manage new server deployments, design tasks, utilization monitoring, alarm and event management, hardware failure resolution
  • Handle cluster management, design tasks, utilization monitoring, alarm and event management, hardware failure resolution, RMA initiation, and guest monitoring for virtualization environments.
  • Provide oversight, design tasks, update testing, alarm and event management, hardware failure resolutions, image maintenance, and laptop shipment for device management.
  • Managing, coordinating and participating in interface FATs between package systems and main automation systems
  • Working closely with Cybersecurity teams to ensure plant cyber policies, standards and procedures are aligned and executed in concert with corporate policies
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 20+ years of experience oil and gas with specific experience in LNG engineering, designing, construction, commissioning, startup and operations as well as building and supporting large scale modern OT systems and platforms
  • Strong understanding of OT environments
  • Expertise in backup and restore systems, server deployments, virtualization management, and device management
  • Hands-on experience with security technologies including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, VCP-NV, Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate are preferred but not required
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts and protocols
  • Proficiency in network monitoring tools and network traffic analysis techniques
  • Working knowledge of network troubleshooting methodologies
  • Familiarity with OT network and cyber security principles
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
Experience:
  • Ability to influence stakeholders outside of immediate chain of command
  • Strong knowledge and experience working within an operations organization for an LNG and/or petrochemical company owner.
  • Strong aptitude for the ability to understanding drawings such as PFD's, P&ID's, cause and effects of complex packages, mechanical and rotating equipment/machines in addition to their control systems.
  • Fundamental understanding of process hazard safety
  • Experience with ABB DCS, SIS, FGS, as well as third party PLCs (e.g. Allen Bradley, Baker Hughes MarkVI, Bently Nevada, Analyzer systems) is a must
  • Solid undestanding of networks and network infrastructures (e.g., IEC62443, ISA-95)
  • Configuration and programming skills such as ABB DCS, visual basic, C, and safety systems designed per IEC61511
  • Database knowledge such as Business Objects and SQL
  • Experience with Alarm Management tools including alarm management, rationalization and master alarm database management
  • Willing to apply Artificial Intelligence, Machine Language as well as Large Language Models to improve Operational efficiencies and performance
  • Networking and cybersecurity experience including designing of Operational System architecture drawings as well as Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and communication protocols such as Modbus Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA/DA/HDA, Goose, Profibus, Profinet, IEC61850, IEC62443, Kepware and other industrial communication protocols and systems
  • Experience with firewall, router and network switch configurations (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, PaloAlto, Eagle, etc.)
  • Experience in interfacing with data and acquisition systems such as Plant Historians, Asset Management Systems, Bently Nevada System 1, BH MarkVI, Analyzer systems, Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and Electrical Control and Management Systems (ECMS)
  • Experience in Operating facilities including maintenance and troubleshooting automation systems and experience with control of work systems
  • Good understanding of the design, specification and operations of rotating equipment, including the preparation, and start-up of rotating equipment (per API or equivalent standards).
  • Clearly understand data sheets and plant design specifications.
  • Understanding of LNG processing such as gas conditioning, heat exchangers and refrigeration and experience with APCI liquefaction technology.
  • Experience and a clear understanding of Management of Change (MOC) requirements and processes.
  • Familiar with International codes & standards (API, ASME ANSI, ISO)
  • Proven track record of implementing best practices and lessons learned within the LNG industry.
  • Experience with any of the following software will be considered a plus: Permit to Work, Management of change, MS Project, Primavera, PowerBi, Prometheus, Aveva OSIPi, ABB Edge data collectors Hexagon SP2D/SP3D/SPI, SAP, Safety Lifecycle Management tools, etc.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work within or outside of a complex construction environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc. This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.

* Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary.
* Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending, standing on a stool, or climbing as necessary to perform these functions.
