Location: Remote (For Non-Local) or Hybrid (Local to NYC area)

The Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Developer ensures test automation suites are accurate and up to date through planning, implementation, analysis, and maintenance. They promote testing best practices through effective team communication and application in code through all stages of the software design lifecycle. Working closely with remotely-located peers, the Senior QA Developer establishes and leads the overall test strategy and its subsequent execution for their assigned Scrum team(s).

Position Responsibilities:



  • Define and implement test automation strategies for applications, ensuring robustness and scalability.
  • Design, implement, and maintain diverse testing methodologies, including unit, regression, stress/load, security, and chaos testing, as an integral part of the development lifecycle.
  • Plan, direct, and maintain the technical aspects of complex test automation initiatives.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies within a Scrum team, collaborating closely with team members.
  • Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, project managers, and subject matter experts to ensure alignment and clarity on project requirements.
  • Apply situational leadership to make efficient testing decisions and drive project success.
  • Collaborate with peers in selecting, configuring, and implementing test automation frameworks, tools, and architecture.
  • Lead the submission, prioritization, and resolution of defects.
  • Conduct exploratory testing on both front-end and back-end systems, and develop tooling to support testing efforts.
  • Perform code reviews on unit tests and developer-contributed code to ensure high quality.
  • Assure the delivery of high-quality software and maintain adherence to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct, including reporting noncompliance.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • 7+ years of testing experience across UI, API, Load/Performance, and Regression Testing.
  • Proven expertise in building and expanding test frameworks, especially within CI/CD environments.
  • Strong programming skills, with proficiency in Python and PostgreSQL. Experience with additional languages like Rust is a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in front-end test automation with tools like Playwright or Cypress, using Python/JavaScript/Typescript.
  • Proven ability to design and execute comprehensive testing strategies spanning unit, regression, stress/load and performance testing.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools preferred with cloudwatch or similar tools.
  • A track record of taking ownership and delivering high-quality solutions in technically complex environments.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Proficiency in Rust is highly regarded but optional.
  • Familiarity with advanced load testing tools like Locust or Goose.
  • Exposure to chaos engineering tools like Chaos Monkey or similar practices.
  • Previous experience in pharmacy benefit management or health insurance is preferred.


Base Salary: $120,000 - $140,000
