Coterra is hiring a Senior Reservoir Engineer in Houston
As a Senior Reservoir Engineer at Coterra, you will support the Asset Evaluation Team, focusing on Acquisitions & Divestitures (A&D) with project-based evaluations requiring quick turnaround. This role emphasizes reservoir engineering expertise and economic analysis to assess and optimize oil and gas assets. You will report directly to the Manager of the Asset Evaluation Team and work on-site at Coterra's headquarters in Houston, Texas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with geoscience, drilling, production, and land teams to complete asset evaluations Conduct well performance analysis, pressure interpretation, volumetric calculations, recovery method assessments, and production decline curve evaluations Perform economic analysis for acquisitions, drilling programs, recompletions, and workover opportunities using Excel and ARIES Gather, organize, and interpret large datasets to define reservoir characteristics and generate type curves Conduct discounted cash flow analyses and prepare cost estimates for future development of assets under evaluation Evaluate Lease Operating Expenses (LOE) and operational costs for accuracy and alignment with asset performance Perform reserves studies for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting Conduct feasibility studies on existing assets, potential acquisitions, and divestitures, and provide recommendations based on findings Lead special projects involving material balances, reservoir exploitation, and recovery method analysis Maintain data accuracy in technical and economic reporting

Skills and Experience
Proficiency in ARIES, Spotfire, and Excel for technical and economic evaluations Extensive experience with reservoir engineering methods, including material balances, volumetric calculations, and type curve generation Advanced capability in analyzing large datasets and applying decline curve analysis Experience conducting reserves evaluations for reporting and forecasting purposes Familiarity with cost estimation for asset development and operational expenses
Education Requirements
Years of Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in reservoir engineering or related technical discipline Significant experience in acquisitions, divestitures, and reserves evaluation preferred
Working Environment
Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. You must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting and standing. In the event there are visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
