GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Nurse Manager - Float (NM-F) will be temporarily assigned to hospital departments with Nurse Manager vacancies. The NM-F will serve as the assigned department's Interim Nurse Manager for the duration of the assignment. Under administrative direction of both the BestChoice Nursing Director as well as the Director/Nursing Administrator of the unit, the NM-F will assume administrative accountability for leading, managing, developing, supervising and evaluating all aspects of patient care. The NM-F will manage and collaborate relationships with leadership members, physicians and care of the responsible patient populations. The NM-F will assure professional, clinical and educational excellence in the provision of quality care to patients. The NM-F will facilitate empowerment of staff in the implementation of creative and innovative patient care delivery models and stimulate a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach in the continuous improvement of patient care services. The NM-F will assume responsibility for fiscal management of the unit.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or completion of other formal nursing education necessary to obtain /maintain and advanced practice nursing Michigan license (midwife, CRNA, CNS or Nurse Practitioner)
    Master's degree in Nursing, Business, Health Management or another related field preferred.
  • ANCC recognized nursing specialty certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
  • Minimum of 2 years Nurse Manager experience.
  • Knowledge of quality management and service excellence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that provide coaching and facilitation expertise.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates innovative, creative leadership style.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.



CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:



  • Current licensure to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certification required, ACLS certification recommended.
